A Swiss association dedicated to ethical and sovereign AI.
ARIEL-IA is a Swiss non-profit association established in Geneva on June 20, 2026. Its mission is to promote artificial intelligence that is ethical, human-centric, sovereign and useful to life, as well as to develop, document and protect civil digital technologies that are responsible and respectful of privacy.

ARIEL-IA in a few words
ARIEL-IA was born from a simple conviction: the most powerful technologies must never be separated from their human responsibility.
The association carries a vision in which artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital sovereignty, knowledge transmission and the protection of life must move forward together.
Its role is to develop, document, protect and transmit tools, knowledge and technologies that remain at the service of people, institutions, responsible organisations and the common good.
Current governance
Continuity now carried by the next generation.
ARIEL-IA is now led by the direct descendants of the founder, within a framework of transmission, responsibility and long-term continuity.
Board of Directors
The direct descendants of the founder, Stéphane Valente, now assume the statutory roles of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Together, they form the Board of Directors of Association ARIEL-IA. This organisation ensures the family, ethical and strategic continuity of the project, in accordance with the spirit of the association’s statutes.
This governance framework helps ensure that important decisions relating to the mission, technologies, intellectual property and future evolution of ARIEL-IA are taken within a clear, responsible framework faithful to the founding intention.
By choice of protection and sobriety, the association does not publish detailed personal information about the members of its Board of Directors on its website.
Founder
A founder stepping back, while remaining present.
The effective transmission of the project requires balance: allowing the new governance to exercise its responsibilities, while preserving ARIEL-IA’s technical, human and strategic memory.
Stéphane Valente, founder of ARIEL-IA, chose to step back from the operational leadership of the association in order to allow the effective transmission of the project.
He remains active within the association as founder, resource person and guardian of the technical, ethical and strategic memory of the project.
He may be consulted by the Board of Directors whenever his experience, historical knowledge of the projects or technical expertise is useful for understanding, protecting or continuing the work already undertaken.
This position preserves the founding intention while ensuring that effective governance now rests with the next generation called upon to carry ARIEL-IA over time.
